My Birthday Haul

My birthday turned out better than I expected; I spent the day with my guy and our daughter in Cocoa Beach, where I stopped by Knit & Stitch and invested in a little Noro and Juniper Moon yarns.

My guy gave me a set of lavender and vanilla relaxation products from Bath & Body Works (not pictured) which I'm already using and are amazing. Kat gave these gorgeous silver, abalone and koa wood earrings from Na Hoku.

I also stopped by Hello Again Books and splurged on a stack for reading during my vacation. We then went to an Asian buffet and ruined our diets. Honestly, being with my family and having fun in one of my favorite places in Florida made the day perfect. :)

I should also mention that my friend B gave me two more books for my birthday, so I have lots of reading to look forward to this month. Thanks, everyone.

Happy birthday!!
That was a nice haul. I love simple jewelry, though I rarely wear any. My little stud earrings are the extent of my extravagance.
I'm so glad you got to see your daughter. I'm betting that was the best birthday gift of all.

Wild Ride

Along with the Gods: The Two Worlds is an epic, dazzling film that hurls you into the Korean version of the afterlife while showcasing some of the most impressive special effects I've ever seen in any movie. The story begins with the death of firefighter Kim Ja-Hong (Cha Tae-hyun) who jumps out of a burning building with a child in his arms. The kid lives, but he dies at the scene. Progress

My guy is back home safe, sound and exhausted. I think he just realized he's over seventy now. :) I didn't finish a sewing project while he was gone, but I did make some progress on the beach bag. I've tacked down all the fabric elements on top of the old backing fabric I quilted. Time to break out the embroidery thread box and have some fun.
