On the Day

Since our much-anticipated holiday plans were cancelled by others, my guy and I decided to head to Tables Beach on Christmas Day. We both love the beach, and it's a restorative place for me. While we sat on the sands and basked some hungry seagulls landed to beg for snacks, but I don't feed wildlife. I did get some neat pics, though. I also was able to let go of a lot of negative emotions that I don't want to carry around with me anymore. There weren't many people there; just some families from Patrick AFB, which was right across the street. The kids had fun, and it was fun watching them. Christmas at the beach is definitely my favorite way to celebrate now. After our beach visit we went to have a late lunch/early dinner at Hibachi Buffet , which was excellent. Yes, the happiest day of the year has finally arrived. Much as I love Christmas, December 26th is the day on the calendar that is farthest away from the next visit by Santa. I can breathe a sigh of relief and not think about all that good luck, good times and good cheer that I love so much for a whole 365 days, starting today. Okay, the sarcasm is mean, I admit. Before you judge, you should really read some of the Christmas stories on my blog. They are not for the faint of heart . I think I will celebrate by taking my guy out for lunch. Our neighbors gave us a Culvers gift card, and I do love their shrimp. :) Image by Rosy / Bad Homburg / Germany from Pixabay
