After all the fails in May, I started June by making a scrap basket out of four thrifted partial yarn skeins in pretty shades of blue. I made another star blanket in five days. I repaired some wear holes on another Vera Bradley purse by patching small doilies over them. After getting off to a difficult start, I stuck with and crocheted this blooming flower throw (which is really just another star blanket.) I made a drawstring pouch for my new dice set. I finally finished crocheting the Azalea scarf I started back in May. I hauled out my rusty cross stitch skills to make a house warming gift for my nephew. I crocheted a bulky yarn throw in a weekend from the Make in a Weekend pattern booklet. I crocheted a pepperoni pizza purse. This bejeweled gathering basket was my very first attempt at weaving with art yarn. Finally, I completed the June tote for my calendar project, which is an ode to the beginning of my favorite season: Summer!

May was a tough month for me, as I spent much of it finding out just how much I can screw up a project (a lot, if you're wondering.) I also had to give up and shut down my social media account because of a toxic to me issue, so that hurt a bit. I will miss the creative folks on there who were so nice to me. Anyway, I made this cute lemon yellow amigurumi bear while trying out Hobbii's Honey Bunny Shine yarn for the first time, ran out of the yarn and had to improvise to finish the toy. I crocheted this throw, which was too small because I misread the pattern. I patched a hole in one of my thrifted Vera Bradley purses. This I did not mess up. :) I crocheted an amigurumi giraffe for my grand niece, who collects them. While I'm off tending to my spiritual side, let me show you how much I got done last month. I experimented quite a bit in April, first by making a dishcloth out of cotton yarn to test whether or not I agreed with the opinions of some influencers about the fiber (end result: I don't agree, what a shock! Ha.) I also made a dog bowl mat for my pups out of cotton yarn, just to be sure I liked it. I tested out a skein of sport weight silk yarn by making a granny square out of it, which I may incorporate into my calendar project. Speaking of that, I finished the April tote for my quilting calendar project, which is a fusion of crochet and quilting. The cutter quilt pieces I've been saving forever for the right project (and I'm so glad I did) and the yarn I used to crochet the tote tops and handles is a worsted art yarn I thrifted last year. To kick off March I finished crocheting the Sherwood throw out of forest-colored thrifted yarns. I used a vintage pillow sham to line a basket I thrifted. I crocheted a Project basket out of some bulky yarn I got in a Herrschners mystery bag. For the last cold spell of winter I crocheted a hat out of beautiful hand-dyed mystery yarn from an Etsy seller. I crocheted, yes, a chicken purse. I crocheted a bottom for the second of my thrifted baskets. I made a book sleeve out of some leftover blanket yarn. I taught myself to crochet bookmarks with scrap yarn. I made the March tote for my calendar project out of a thrifted curtain. I turned a bag of macrame cord sample skeins into a yarn basket. I crocheted a wrap completely out of scrap yarn. Finally, I sewed and machine quilted a mat for my nephew's dog.
