Holiday Plans

With my neck problems I won't be able to make a lot of gifts for the holidays this year -- if I'm lucky, maybe I can do another little quilt for Oliver -- but I can still give hand made gifts purchased from other quilters. I think it's more important than ever to skip the retail blitz of cheap, overpriced crap and and instead support our independent artists out there.

This indigo quilted tote from Hobbs Hill Quilts features the Japanese kanji for dream, so it'll be perfect for Katherine. I love the little touches Lisa adds to her work, like the turquoise bead on the zip pull.

Also from Hobbs Hill. If I can bear to part with it, this little pouch will be great for holding a gift card, jewelry or other small gift, and then serve as a neat wallet or makeup bag.

How cute are those? And I agree, supporting the artistic community is a good thing. I bought a couple of Hocus Pocus mugs as well as a Nightmare Before Christmas mug from Etsy for the girls and me because...favorite movies! ;) They were a big hit and supported a deserving artist rather than a conglomerate.
