Cheaters

Usually I cannot be trusted at JoAnn with a 25% off everything coupon, which of course they e-mailed me yesterday. But I've nearly run out of muslin, which I use constantly, and I wanted to get some new Halloween decorations for our house and Kat's apartment, so my guy and I went yesterday.

90" wide unbleached muslin was on sale for 40% off (reg. price $7.99 a yard), which with my coupon made it $2.50 a yard. I got five yards, but while I was waiting at the cutting table I saw these in the clearance bin:

Both kits were cute, and according to the packages including all the fabric, backing and binding. I thought they'd make easy little projects for me this fall, and with my coupon they were just a couple of bucks, so I tossed them in the cart. Once I got home, I opened the cherry kit, but instead of stuff to make the patchwork it contained just this:

Yep, it's just a big sheet of fabric, and the patchwork is simply cheater panels -- probably why they were so cheap. On the bright side, I think I can still make them into something.
