My guy wasn't feeling well yesterday, so no sewing last night. But a little present I bought for myself arrived from Canada:
My new quilt from Lisa at Hobbs Hill Quilts has all the autumn colors I love, plus brilliant patchwork, plus amazing quilting. I can't believe she did this on a domestic sewing machine:
One thing I love about Lisa's work (there are many things in this category) is how she mixes prints. You'd never think these would work so beautifully together, and yet they do:
One thing in particular I love about this quilt is the visible mending in a couple of places. Lisa uses recycled fabrics, and applies Japanese boro stitching where they might need some extra love:
So while I didn't get to finish up National Sewing Month with my own projects, I still had a lovely evening cooing over a quilt. :)
