While I've been on my quilting break I've been sitting in the sewing room every night and just looking through my fabrics to see what I want to do next. I need to find the right backing fabric for my double wedding ring quilt, so I'm holding off on that until July. Meanwhile, this hand-dyed/vintage/recycled bundle keeps whispering to me, "Make us into an art quilt. Just a little one. You know, for stitch practice."
Fabric always lies to me like that. I know the minute I get started it will want to be a lot more than stitch practice. Do I look like an idiot to my stash? Probably.
This is a big piece of synthetic fabric that was tie-dyed. I love the colors and the pattern; reminds me of my childhood. Anything green always grabs my heart, too.
This hand-dyed piece of linen definitely wants to be the background fabric. It reminds me of the forest floor. Oh, boy. I think I've been seduced. Sigh. Anyway, stay tuned to see what I make of it.
