Zero Waste

I haven't been keeping up with my commitment to zero waste quilting this year, but under the circumstances I'll forgive myself. I've still got six months to use what scraps I've generated. Here's what I have leftover from making Oliver's birthday quilt:

I have about three quarters of a yard of the backing fabric, five patchwork blocks, a pile of trimmed pieces and a bag of little bits. My challenge to myself for the summer is to try to use up all these scraps. Stay tuned to see what I can make of them. :)

I would probably not be able to use the scraps. I did a challenge some years ago, I don't remember who was leading the group, to try and use every bit of our quilts with the intention being, if we were careful enough cutting and piecing, there shouldn't be any leftover scraps to worry about.

Yeah, that didn't work. And I never did figure out what to do with them. So i'm interested in seeing what you come up with.
