To try to get myself inspired to quilt I decided to start looking for what I wanted to use to make a quilt for Oliver's first birthday in September. I know I said I wasn't going to buy any new fabric, but for this project I wanted something fun. I also want to support independent quilt suppliers, so I shopped around and found what I was looking for at Quilted Thimble Cottage's online store:
The collection is called Breeze by Zen Chic for Moda, and I choose it because the colors made me think of Oliver's eyes and the peachy glow of his skin in sunlight. The prints aren't babyish or girlie, so I think he'll like the quilt as he gets older.
I bought twelve fat quarters plus the backing fabric. The latter is the white on white square-stitchy print (first on the left). I might use my yellow brick road pattern for this one, as it's easy and I've used it a bunch of times, so I won't stress out over the patchwork.
