The lot of yarn with the fingering weight skeins that I thrifted arrived, so let's dive in and see if I got a bargain.
Here is everything in the lot, all unused, clear and odorless. When I saw that all but one skein of yarn had labels, and some of the labels had the original pricing, and I began to add things up in my head I was blown away.
I received eight skeins of fingering, sock and lace weight yarn that are unused and labelled with tags totalling over $200.00. Just these eight.
The Isaac Mizrahi craft yarn is worth $8.99. The little Cowgirl Blues Merino Twist and Mohair Wool skeins are worth a total of $47.00.
The lot also came with a barely started needlepoint kit with all the threads and instructions that I found selling for $45.21 new online.
Since I had nearly all the labels (I'm positive that the unlabelled skein was a Peaches & Creme cotton) I went ahead and looked up all the prices on all 27 skeins plus the kit and hooks, because I know I could never afford to buy this yarn new.
