Back at the beginning of Octber I won a lot of fabric for $19.90 on a buy it now option, paid for it and waited for it to arrive. Two weeks later I hadn't gotten even a shipping notice, so I sent a query via customer service to the seller (who I've dealt with before and usually ships within 5 business days) on the thrift auction site about when they were planning to ship it to me.
Here's the response I got: Hi Valerean I’m really sorry for the delay. I have not been able to locate this order as it is not in its assigned location due to a system error. Our managers are currently aware of the situation and are actively searching for your order. If you would like to allow more time, then there is no need to respond to this closed ticket. If you have any further concerns, please respond as we will then be notified of your response. Apologies again, and kind Regards.
Customers can cancel an order and request a refund, something I've never done. I've only had two orders end up delayed, including this one, and eventually I got the one before now. I really wanted the lot, and I know stuff happens, so I decided to give them more time and just wait. Sure enough, a few days later I got the shipping notice, so they finally found my order and shipped it.
In this Amazon Prime, Door Dash, got-to-have-it yesterday world a delayed shipment seems like a huge annoyance. But having patience pays off in the end.
