Do Not Think, Do

As of the writing of this post I'm working on embroidering my one pound challenge quilt (this update is part six on the project.) This whole project has been a slow and (at first) painful process as I'm working on shutting off my brain when I quilt and embroider and just go with the flow. Turns out I'm not especially flowy.

The embroidery on this quilt is a perfect example of me trying to organize and layout and decide things ahead of time, aka me thinking too much. I thought I should do all circular patterns with the embroidery. Only there was this little voice in the back of my head going "No. Quit thinking. Just do it and see what happens." I didn't want to listen to the little voice, but I did because this is the whole point of slow stitching anything for me: to be mindful, meditative, and create in the moment.

As you can see from my progress not every bit of embroidery is circular patterned. I have this little giraffe block where I keep going back and adding stitches. I have no idea how this quilt will turn out. Yay!
