Looking Back

My sole quilting project in October was the Happiness quilt, which I finished just under the wire.

I was plagued by problems as I finished the quilt, too. I actually put two bindings on it, as the first turned out to be too wide and semi-transparent to look right. I used binding leftover from the koi quilt in the end, and then my walking foot stopped working on the fourth and final side, which is a little bunchy now.

I also discovered a hole in the patchwork, right in a corner, caused by a scissors slip I made that I didn't catch until I was hand-quilting it. I'll do a separate post on how I solved this dilemma.

I think because I was trying too hard to be perfect I frequently messed up, occasionally with my stitching, too. On the plus side I never once bled on the quilt (nerve-wracking when you're hand-quilting a piece with a white backing), and I still like the quilt a lot.

I think I will stick to smaller projects in November. :)

I love it! And I bleed at least once on every quilt I do as well. :/
