Boxes Project Part 2

For the second of the three thrifted boxes I'm rehabbing I chose the red photo storage box, as that one was in great shape and hardly needed any work.

I don't usually work with a lot of red, but I had on hand this primitive/tribal print that everyone but me would probably think is ugly. I've been saving it for something special, and decided to use it for my red box rehab.

I quilted and beaded a top to cover the photo space on the lid from that print, and also glued a strip of the fabric around the base to cover up the monogrammed A on the box.

Although the inside is pristine, I lined the bottom with a cutter quilt stitch practice piece I made earlier this year.

I haven't made a fabric journal for this box yet, so for now it will store my little art quilt pieces.

This one turned out to look kind of expensive, actually. It's the perfect kind of box for gifts and holding paper journals, too.
