Thrifting Part 1

I looked around online for some vintage tins to purchase for my boxes fabric journal project, but none that I saw were the right size or in my budget range (I gave myself $20.00 to spend on three.) New tins in the right size run anywhere from $10 to $25 each, so they were too pricey, and I really prefer used to new these days.

While we were out running errands I stopped by Goodwill, but they only had circular tins. What they did have were these three boxes that would work just as well.

The red monogrammed storage box was a real find, as it's in pristine condition. The dark wooden jewelry box needs a good cleaning, and I had to remove the glass photo inset panel due to a broken clip, but I can fill in the space. The small light wooden box has some dings, but otherwise it's nice and sturdy.

Best part: all three cost me a total of $11.97. To see what else I found at Goodwill, stop by tomorrow.
