See You

We woke this morning to gray skies and drizzling rain, which is the precursor to the arrival of Hurricane Milton.

All of our storms preps are finished, including bottled water if the storm wipes out our well pump. All of our neighbors are in good shape now, too. I expect if the storm jogs a little more to the north we may be without power and internet for a week or more.

I've been washing out and saving these iced tea jugs all summer in anticipation of something like this, and it's very satisfying to have recycled the bottles to help us in the aftermath of the storm.

I think the hardest thing this time was sending electronic copies of our wills, trusts, power of attorneys and other end of life documents to Katherine. She was shocked, too; although I warned her in the e-mail that it was just in case of the worst scenario she called us yesterday to express her worry and love. It's a lot to pile on the kid, but at least she has everything she'll need to handle our estates now.

I hope everyone in the path of Milton stays safe. We will, too. Hope to see you on the other side of the storm.
