I never talk about the utility sewing I do, so here are a few more examples of that. During spring cleaning I took down all the curtains in the house to wash them, and then shortened and re-hemmed the sets in my sewing room, home office and our guest room. I've been meaning to alter them forever but never got around to it, so that was very satisfying.
In May I also altered this dress for my neighbor to better fit her so she could wear on a summer trip out of town. She pays me with generous amounts of her organic garden produce, so it's a really nice exchange of skills.
This month I need to shorten these jeans and tailor these black yoga pants for myself. Having the skills to do alterations and utility sewing has really come in very handy in this part of my life, but for my next leap I'd like to try making some of my own clothes again.
