To wrap up Mother's Day my guy and I went for a lakeside walk so we could watch the sunset over the water. These lily pads were everywhere.
The bugs of summer have arrived there, too -- the gnats in particular swarmed my guy -- but the local spiders will keep them under control.
I took about a hundred shots of the sunset, which was pretty, but this was my favorite pic of the night. Very peaceful.

A friend of mine brings a lot of her plants in to overwinter in her garage. Her husband built her a somewhat climate controlled area for them and last spring, she realized she'd also brought in a gray tree frog who had happily overwintered as well on those plants, feasting on all the gnats that live in the dirt and on the plants. So I got an every-few-days saga of the little frog until she moved them back out and he moved on.
