I set aside the rejoined crazy quilt piece after I added black binding (which was a huge pain.) I might use it for stitch or embellishment practice, but for right now I'm tired of wrestling with wool.
I'm still pondering the patchwork design for the next linen quilt, so I hauled out my art cloth scraps to use some in one more little project.
I decided to try a slow stitch strip project to wind around this wooden spool. The muslin and linen binding strips I removed from a cutter quilt piece have great vintage texture, so I ironed them flat to sew into the foundation strip.
This is not going to be an immense project, obviously, but it was fun to pick out which scraps to use.
From here it's all improv. Stay tuned to see the results.
