With my arthritis I had trouble twisting the dough and getting it to stay in pretzel shape, but managed a couple:
After those two tries I decided to snip bite-size pieces of the dough rope rather than fool with the twisting. These I baked for the same amount of time, twelve minutes, and got a lovely batch of pretzel nuggets:
You can easily hack this recipe, too, and add herbs, cheese or other flavors to the dough. Instead of salt you might try cinnamon and sugar to make them a sweet snack. These will definitely be one of our new favorites.
