The Month in Stitches

I had a fairly productive sewing and quilting month in May, including making this remembrance piece for Mom on Mother's Day. I think this is how I'll celebrate her every year now.

I also pieced and quilted this house patchwork to make a practice quilt for my embroidery. In the months ahead I want to embellish it with all kinds of flowery stitches.

I continued working on my linen quilt, and successfully finished quilting and embroidering the center row of patchwork. An experiment in stitching sunflowers added what looks like a little Muppet head to my quilt, but no problem. I love Muppets. :)

Even the littlest projects helped me this month. I stitched this muslin bag with some very old thread in a variation of feather stitch, just to make it pretty. Sometimes just doing that is enough to bring joy and peace.

Lovely pieces all and I can't pick a favorite, but I'm leaning toward the linen.
