End of the Year Projects

I have a bunch of vintage cutter quilt pieces to play with in December, and I'd like to cobble some of these together and make slow-stitched pillows, wall hangings and journal covers out of them.

This strange hand-embroidered crane or duck is definitely going to become a pillow top. I love him.

I'm also still working on my Jane Eyre project; right now I'm transferring an image of Haddon Hall in the UK, which was used as the setting for three different Jane Eyre films, to be my representation of Thornfield Hall from the book. This is going to take a while, but I'm not rushing.

I love that crane/duck/bird thing! I have an antique quilt done in pink and white (don't shudder too hard!) that's all squares, each square an animal embroidered in pink and then the square is bordered in pink. I picked it up years ago for a couple dollars at an antique show. I wish I knew the background on it because it's beautifully done and still in beautiful condition.
