Alone Time

If all goes well my guy will be visiting our kid up north for a week (I'm writing this post two days before he's scheduled to leave.) So right now I'm probably managing life on my own.

I encouraged him to go by himself. Someone needs to stay home, man the fort and look after the pets, and that's my specialty. When I was younger I travelled quite a bit through the Pacific Northwest, but he's never been there. I don't feel like travelling anymore. He and Kat both like to hike, be outdoors, etc. so they should have fun.

Meanwhile, I get to do pretty much whatever I want for a week. I can make the meals I like, which means lots of stir fry and meatless dinners. I can wear my pajamas all day if I want (I won't, but the luxury of being able to without getting weird looks is nice). I will also be able to write uninterrupted for a week.

As vacations go, this will be a nice one. I'm sure he'll have a good time, too. :)

I'm so jealous!! I know how much you miss Kat. But oh, the luxury of being able to not answer to anyone for awhile is just so...what a gift for a few days. Hubs never travels. I wish he would. I was always an 'alone' person and sometimes, the ache I feel to just be alone for a few days is so overwhelming. Enjoy your time and love on your puppers. And safe travels for your guy.
