Onto the Quilting

I put together the summer art quilt last night with low-loft batting and some scrap muslin for the backing. Since it's already a heavy piece, and I'm not planning to do intricate quilting, I'm using size 8 perle cotton embroidery thread to stitch it all together.

I've never quilted anything with moire satin, so I was a bit nervous about that, but I'm not having any problem with snags or pushing the needle through. So far, so good.

I've used little pieces of moire in crazy quilt patches and they've been a joy compared to the silk. This quilt is gorgeous. Truly. You did an amazing job on it and I think you should enter it in something. :)
